Good evening, Lord.
It’s been a long couple of weeks. I know that I haven’t had the time to spend with you that I try to normally have. So let me start out by saying I’m sorry. When I get busy, it seems so easy to neglect you & that’s so unfair because no matter how busy you get, you never neglect me. You are always there for me. Know in my heart Lord that I want the same for you. I want to always be there when you call. When you have a task for me to carry out, I want to be there, ready to go, to do your will. I never want to miss a chance to share Jesus with someone that you send my way but so often, I’m afraid that I do. You come disguised so well that sometimes I miss you. And I know that is your intent because you want us to treat everyone we come into contact with just like we would if it were you.
Today has been particularly rough for Char & me, Lord. We took Tuffy to the doctor & found out he has cancer in two different places. He probably won’t be with us long & that really hurts because he is our buddy. He was an angel you sent my way during a very difficult time in my life.
He kept me company & kept my mind off of what was going wrong & helped me get past that time in life. And when I had my foot surgeries, he was much like you – always there to snuggle up against me & keep me company while I healed. And his love reminds me of yours in many ways – always there.
Lord, help Charlotte & I be prepared for the time that will come when we will be without him. Help us to lean on you to fill the void. And please don’t let our little buddy suffer. Help us all to know when it is time.
I want to thank you for what you are doing at the church. Charlotte & I had such a good time with the Keenagers on our road trip this past weekend. We are so blessed to have folks like Dan & Dawn Harrod that will give up their Saturday to make it all possible. It is so important for a church to have fun together in everything that they do & Evergreen seems to be doing a pretty good job at that right now. And for that we are thankful.
I could never tell you enough Lord, but I so appreciate You allowing us to return to Evergreen. You, in your infinite wisdom have put together a ministry team that is pleasing unto You.
May we work together with the flock to do great things for God. You know my desire to serve. I thank you for giving me a place like Evergreen to serve.
It’s getting late & I have another long day ahead of me tomorrow. I’m sorry to slip out early again but I have to get some sleep. Thank you for watching over us, for keeping us safe. I hope we have been witnesses to those around us & point people to You every day. You are a good & mighty God. We love You with all of our heart. Bless Pastor & his family & Bro. Scott & his, as well. Bless the many dedicated members we have that work so hard to share the Good News of Jesus with all that will hear it.
I love You Lord, & I lift my voice, to worship You – Oh my soul, rejoice! Take joy my King, in what You hear. May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.
Your Servant, Bro. Charlie
